Occupancy and attendance insights
What a count means
Section titled “What a count means”Occupancy is an estimate of people visible in configured camera areas at a measurement time. It is not a unique-visitor count, check-in ledger, equipment availability indicator, court reservation, or certified safety-capacity measurement.
Configure area busyness thresholds for Quiet, Fairly Busy, Busy, and Very Busy. A label describes the configured count range; it does not guarantee an available lane or machine.
Measurement quality
Section titled “Measurement quality”- Live: a recent, complete estimate is available.
- Partial: only some expected cameras reported usable measurements.
- Stale: the last measurement is too old to describe current activity.
- Unavailable or unconfigured: no suitable estimate is available.
Do not replace a missing or stale count with zero. Zero is a valid observation only when a usable measurement supports it. Avoid overlapping camera views that count the same people twice.
Attendance history
Section titled “Attendance history”The backend records occupancy observations in time buckets and maintains hourly and daily aggregates. Complete observations support averages and peaks; incomplete observations contribute to quality reporting. These are occupancy samples, not total daily admissions.
Review history over comparable days and operating hours. Weather observations provide context; a correlation is not proof that weather caused an attendance change. Historical baselines can support staffing planning, but forecasts remain estimates and need sufficient representative history.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Check device health, camera assignment, operating hours, last measurement time, and exclusion zones before changing thresholds. Confirm the stream is reachable and review a calibration frame with an authorized administrator. Consult Camera setup and Calibration.
