Connect Slack

The Slack integration posts structured facility updates to one channel selected during Slack authorization. Messages include the status, affected scope, explanatory text, and event time.

Before you connect

You need:

• organization super-administrator access in FaciliPulse;
• permission to add an app to the target Slack workspace; and
• a Slack channel where operational updates are appropriate.

If Slack requires workspace-owner approval, request that approval before starting. Choose a staff channel rather than a member-facing or public channel for the first test.

Connect a workspace

1. In the FaciliPulse administration workspace, open Integrations.
2. Find Slack Workspace Integration and select Connect to Slack.
3. In the Slack window, choose the correct workspace and destination channel.
4. Review the requested permission and approve the connection.
5. Return to FaciliPulse. Refresh the integration status if it does not update automatically.
6. Confirm that the card shows the expected workspace and channel.

FaciliPulse requests Slack’s incoming-webhook permission. The selected webhook credential is stored separately from the public connection metadata.

Send a test

Select Send Test Alert to Slack. A successful test posts a small FaciliPulse confirmation card to the connected channel. Seeing a connected badge alone does not prove that the destination still accepts messages, so send a test after changing Slack permissions or channel settings.

Production status cards can include:

• a status indicator and headline;
• the affected facility or area;
• the status or delivery outcome;
• the public message or note; and
• a FaciliPulse event timestamp.

The default connection listens for facility override changes, facility and area status changes, and notification completion events.

Change the channel

Slack selects the channel during authorization. To move messages to another channel, disconnect Slack in FaciliPulse and connect it again, selecting the new destination during Slack authorization. Then send another test.

Disconnect Slack

Select Disconnect Slack and confirm. FaciliPulse disables delivery, removes the stored webhook and token, and attempts to revoke the Slack authorization. New facility events will no longer be posted to that destination.

Troubleshooting

The Slack window does not open: allow pop-ups for the FaciliPulse admin site, sign in again, and retry.

Slack asks for approval: a Slack workspace administrator controls app installation. Ask them to approve the connection or complete it with you.

The connection succeeds but no alert arrives: confirm the displayed channel, send a test, and check whether the app was removed or the channel was archived. Reconnect if Slack permissions changed.

The test reports a delivery error: retry once after confirming Slack is available. If it continues, disconnect and reconnect; then contact support with the organization name, channel name, and approximate test time. Never include OAuth tokens or webhook URLs.
